Tribe mourns 'dear mother'

Frank Maponya

The community of Moletele in the Hoedspruit area of Limpopo is mourning the death of its chief's wife.

Mmakgoshi Kgatliso Salea Mashego-Chiloane, 28, died last Friday. She had earlier undergone an operation at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Nelspruit.

She reportedly failed to recover.

Mashego-Chiloane was married to the chief of the Moletele tribe, Kgoshi Abuti Laxon Chiloane, and they had a three-year-old daughter.

Family spokesperson and younger brother to the chief Prince Jan Chiloane said the family and the tribe were devastated about the death of their "dear mother".

"We all looked up to Mmakgoshi for advice as she displayed a high level of maturity on developmental issues," said Jan Chiloane.

Mashego-Chiloane will be buried tomorrow at Boelang village, Acornhoek.

The service starts at 7am at Scotia farm in GaMongatane village, Hoedspruit.
