Three policemen who were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Durban satellite police station earlier this year appeared in the Durban magistrate's court yesterday.

They face charges of robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms.

Inspector Linda Cibane, Constable Bongani Dlamini and Constable SA Ngcobo were not asked to plead and were remanded in custody.

Police have so far arrested six police officers in connection with the robbery.

One of the officers arrested on Monday was found with two firearms which were positively identified as some of those stolen during the robbery.

Meanwhile, Scottburgh police on the south coast are looking for Sabelo Mxolisi Zondo, who they believe can assist them with information that might lead to the arrest of suspects involved in the rape of a 74-year-old woman.

The pensioner was allegedly raped during a house robbery last month.

Zondo is about 1,7metres tall, light in complexion and of average build. - Canaan Mdletshe
