Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for five heavily armed suspects who allegedly took an undisclosed amount of cash after blowing an ATM in Madumeleng village in Bolobedu yesterday.

Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba said the suspects allegedly arrived at the First National Bank at Madumeleng and tied a security guard's hands and feet before blasting the machine with unknown explosives.

Ramatseba said the suspects allegedly took an undisclosed amount of cash before disappearing on foot.

Ramatseba said no one was injured during the incident.

The security guard was rescued by police who arrived at the scene shortly after the incident.

This is apparently the third incident in the area since the beginning of the year.

The first was at Maphalle village where a Standard Bank ATM was extensively damaged by explosives and an undisclosed amount of money taken.

The second incident was at Kgapane, where an ABSA Bank ATM was blasted, but the suspects did not take any money.
