Afro-pop singer Mr Staff, real name Zolani Staff, is dead.
The 26-year-old sensation died on Sunday of kidney failure. At the time of his death he was visiting relatives in Mpumalanga.
Staff had been in and out of hospital since he was diagnosed with kidney failure in October last year. Almost all members of his immediate family were tested but no match was found for him.
Sowetan published a story last month, highlighting his plight, but nobody came forward. At that time Staff was undergoing dialysis treatment three times a week at Helen Joseph Hospital in Westbury. But he later opted out of the programme.
Staff is survived by his brother Sipho and his mother. He will be buried in Mqanduli in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, on May 17.
