The case against an unemployed mother who allegedly killed two of her children will be transferred to the high court in three weeks' time.

Mapaseka Yvonne Seoka, 26, appeared before magistrate Bruno van Eeden in the Vereeniging magistrate's court yesterday.

Seoka is out on R2000 bail.

It is alleged that Seoka killed both her children at her shack in Hospital Hills near Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

Seoka allegedly killed her 14-month-old son Lebogang and his nine-day-old sister Ditlhoriso.

She allegedly first strangled Lebogang and later stabbed Ditlhoriso with a pair of scissors.

Postmortem results suggested that Lebogang died of suffocation and head injuries.

It is alleged that Seoka killed her children because she was unemployed and could not feed them.

Ditlhoriso's body was found in the veld in Meriting informal settlement near Ennerdale.

She was wrapped in a refuse bag and stuffed into a bucket.

Police said that Seoka gave them unsatisfactory answers about Ditlhoriso's disappearance. She later told them that she had dumped her in Meriting.

Seoka then took police to her shack where she allegedly pointed out a pair of scissors she had used to kill Ditlhoriso.
