Friend stabbed over R150 debt

A quarrel between friends over R150 ended tragically in Limpopo - when one of them was stabbed to death on Saturday night.

The fight began at the Sekhukhune district's police commissioner's home in Seshego Zone 2.

The accused is alleged to have demanded that the victim return the R150 he had borrowed.

Sergeant Mathemane Malefo identified the victim as Lucas Mameregane, 42, of Turfloop-Mankweng.

Malefo said the 50-year-old suspect's name would be released after his court appearance.

He allegedly stabbed Mameregane in the head and chest. He died instantly.

The suspect will appear today in the Seshego magistrate's court on a charge of murder.

l Meanwhile, the body of Abbie Thethetjie Mphaga, 71, of Solomondale near Ga-Dikgale, was found in a neighbourhood street on Sunday night.

In a separate incident the body of Naume Mapane, 56, was found by a relative in her home in Ntshatshane village, near Nobody, on Sunday. She had been stabbed.
