The saying that tough times never last but that tough people do will be put to the test when Jomo Cosmos and Witbank Spurs meet at the Ackerville stadium in Emalahleni on Saturday.

This crunch National First Division (NFD) Inland Stream decider will have an impact on the title and relegation races, with Ezenkosi pushing for the championship and Siyavutha fighting for survival.

Witbank will be a ground of joy and sorrow, but for which team will only be revealed on the day.

The match is expected to separate the men from the boys.

Ezenkosi could be popping more champaign if they are crowned the Inland Stream champions, after they popped the first bottles last week Monday after they qualified for the playoffs for promotion to the Absa Premiership.

Defeat will send Themba Mafu's Witbank Spurs troops to the lower division after they spent four seasons in the NFD.

Andrew Rabutla, Ezenkosi's team manager, conceded that it will not be an easy ride for them to beat Siyavutha whose future in the division is hanging by a thread.

"This time around we will rely heavily on our 12th player in the form of our supporters who rallied behind us throughout the season.

"The worst results that we can settle for on Saturday will be a draw because it will also afford us the title," Rabutla told Sowetan yesterday.

"We do not think that the absence of the suspended lethal striker, Lazarus Kaimbi and Thapelo Tshilo will stop us from winning this match.

"We have other players like George Hummel, Evans Gwekwerere, Bongani Theletsane, Daniel Gaborone and Thabiso Hlalele whose work rate can assist us to climb our final step towards returning to the Absa Premiership," added "Jaws of Life".
