Twenty-eight female guards were unfairly dismissed by a security company because the client‚ Metrora.
Some farm workers in the Rustenburg area yesterday struggled to convince their employers to get time off to vote.
"My employer did allow me to go and vote but he then told me to know that on his farm this was not allowed," Krisjan Malutu said.
He said he was unsure if he would still have a job today.
Andries Tsunyane, already in his mid-sixties, said he had to work first and vote later.
"My boss told me to milk the cows after which I could go to vote, but he later told me to get on a tractor and to plough in the field.
"But when two men in a ANC truck asked me why I was on a tractor instead of going to vote, it is then that I was allowed to go and vote." - Sapa
