A colossal mall, The Piazza, has opened at swanky Melrose Arch.

A colossal mall, The Piazza, has opened at swanky Melrose Arch.

And the new kid on the block can already give other malls a run for their money.

Leading retailers and developers have worked together and the result is 100 hand-picked shops perfectly located in a beautifully designed piazza.

Truworths, Markhams and Foschini are there, but the gem of The Piazza will be the three-level flagship Woolworths . A new concept Edgars will be opening in October when the second phase of the mall is revealed.

Your dining experience is also going to be revolutionised. The youngest chef ever to win the treasured Michelin Star for his restaurant, Peacock Alley in Dublin, Ireland, has chosen the uber-stylish Piazza as the home of his new restaurant Geisha.

Restaurant aficionados Naldo and Victor Concalves will introduce South Africans to the Pigalle Platinum, which promises a gastronomical experience.

And when you have a specific need, you will be glad to know there is an array of specialised shops such as Sony Centre, Exclusive Books and a store by liquor merchant Norman Goodfellows.

Fasionistas will be dizzy with joy when they see True Religion Denim Bar, Ben Sherman, Levinson Man and new-concept store Levinson Women.

The paint has not dried yet, but this super mall already has us salivating.
