HBS is the official host broadcaster of the world governing soccer body who are in charge of organising broadcast operations and infrastructure.
They produce and transmit the international audio and video signals as well as providing necessary services and facilities for right holders and licences.
Francis Tellier, HBS chief executive, said they were working closely with the host cities in the recruitment of interns.
Tellier, who is in the country for the world broadcaster meeting in Johannesburg attended by more than 350 delegates. It started yesterday and will end on Friday.
"The training of the 400 young people in South Africa is part of the 2010 World Cup legacy project and we are looking forward it," said Tellier. "We will be selecting the students, who will be working with our production team.
"We introduced the programme during the 1998 World Cup in France. We have been running the programme everywhere the World Cup is played, some of the students are working for big companies. We also have some with us and it's such a wonderful experience for them."
