Lack of concentration is costing Santos games and coach, David Bright, pictured, has urged his charges to start winning if they still hope to end in the top eight.
Bright spoke to Sowetan after his side drew 1-1 with Bloemfontein Celtic in an Absa Premiership game at Coetzenberg Stadium, Stellenbosch, in Western Cape, on Friday evening.
"The way we concede goals is very frustrating. I warned my lads against losing concentration. They made the same blunder a fortnight ago that saw us lose 2-1 to Ajax Cape Town. I felt like crying when we gave Celtic a gift equaliser in the last minute," lamented Bright.
Bright had a message for detractors: "Tell those who spread wrong information about me and my technical staff, that at Santos we work as a team."
Celtic coach, Owen Da Gama, praised his side for a splendid second half and vowed that Celtic would fight like wounded tigers to avoid the relegation axe.
"Though it was a tough game, I take my hat off to the players, they played very well," said Da Gama.
Lanky Santos midfielder, Musa Otieno was instrumental in frustrating Celtic's dangerman Mark Mayambela.
Bright's charges surprised Celtic when they took the lead in the 12th minute through a header by Eleazar Rodgers after a corner kick taken by Erwin Isaacs.
Da Gama made two changes that turned the game in their favour - off form Moses Spandeel made way for Patrick Malokase in the 61st minute and Goefrey Sserunkuma replaced Solomon Mathe in the 77th
On 89 minutes, Sserunkuma received the ball from Tlou Segolela, turned and hit a shot that slipped through Santos' keeper Lee Langeveldt's hands for a 1-all score.
