Whether Idols top four contestant, Sasha-Lee Davids, wins the lucrative competition or not, it seems she has already won.

Davids, who hails from Cape Town, was on Tuesday named the M-Net MK Matrix Reality Show winner. The wannabe Idol walked away with R50000 in cash.

Davids has also landed a role in the popular kykNET soapie Villa Rosa on DStv.

"Initially, I wanted to use the money to further my studies. However, now that I am in Idols I am going to give it to my parents."

Davids said she entered the competition in December. She was among the eight matric girls who were in Margate on holiday.

The holiday was filmed where each day, every girl cast a secret vote for her favourite member of the house in order to determine the winner.

With the broadcast of the show this year, viewers cast their votes for their favourite matriculant.

The decision came right down to the wire between two contestants on Tuesday as the ultimate result was determined by a public vote. More than 70000 votes were cast for Matrix 2008 and Davids emerged as the winner.

She will be performing on Sunday in Idols to impress the judges before the cut on Monday.
