As the 2009 Vodacom Cup league phase reaches its close this weekend only one team so far is certain of home advantage in the first round of the playoffs next weekend.

The Sharks XV, who have won all six of their matches and hold an eight-point cushion at the top of the South Section, are already certain of hosting one of the four quarterfinals in Durban.

While the remaining three qualifiers in the South Section are already confirmed they are all in the running to finish second and guarantee a home quarterfinal.

The SWD Eagles are second on 19 points, two more than the third-placed Free State and four ahead of Western Province in fourth.

The Eagles must travel to East London to face an improving Border Bulldogs outfit in their final league match today, while WP will host their nearest rivals Free State at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch, also today.

In the North Section, the Leopards, Blue Bulls and Griquas all stand a chance of playing at home in the quarters.

The Leopards lead the section by two points but have played all six of their matches and could be overtaken by both of their rivals. The Blue Bulls travel to Witbank to meet the Pumas tomorrow and Griquas host the Griffons in Kimberley.

The Blue Bulls and Griquas should be successful and force the Leopards into an away quarterfinal tie. - Sapa
