What is the most interesting aspect of your job?
Developing a new product, especially when it goes to stores and achieves high sales in the first week; then you know that you've got a winner.
Do you have a personal passion for shoes?
Very much so. I have been in other departments but I did not enjoy them as much as footwear. When I go out, I look at shoes more than anything else. Be it in stores or on people's feet!

The US, Paris, London, Spain, Hong Kong and China.
What has your most interesting experience abroad been?
They conduct business differently to how we do in South Africa. Overseas they change the window displays every week - if not twice a week. The store staff is hungry for business and as soon as you step into a shop, they are all over you.
What is the worst part of your job?
You can't afford to miss a deadline as everything is urgent and important. One slight mistake could cause the company millions of rands.
What are the perks of your job (freebies)?
Going through all the glossy fashion magazines.
What type of personality is needed to be a buyer?
You need to have a very strong personality as well as good skills with people. We deal with many people locally and internationally. And being open to criticism.
