The trial against a Vaal mother, her daughter and two hitmen was postponed in the Vereeniging circuit court yesterday after their lawyer abandoned them.
Judge Kathy Satchwell adjourned the trial because Florence Mabula and her daughter Dikeledi Mokhethi did not have legal representation.
Their lawyer Debbie Mogiba said he could no longer represent them as he had not been paid.
Satchwell accepted Mogiba's wish and advised Florence and Mokhethi to apply for a new lawyer.
It is alleged that Florence and Mokhethi conspired with the hitmen to kill her policeman husband Moeketsi Mabula on September 4 2002.
