Motebang Mokoena, the owner of Carara Kicks, is not surprised by the successes of his club, which is on the verge of gaining promotion to the Premiership after spending one season in the First Division.

"We have all worked hard for Carara Kicks to be where it is now. We also want to thank the people of Free State for their continued support."

"For us to do this well we had to buy several experienced players with Premiership experience, which helped us a great deal.

"I strongly believe the team we have assembled will be in the Premiership next season. I want to assure the people of Free State that there are no plans to sell the club."

Kicks resume their challenge for the championship with a game against Nathi Lions on Saturday and play Hanover Park on May 2.

Coached by David Vilakazi, Kicks are involved in a neck and neck race with FC Cape Town.

The winners of the inland and coastal streams will meet to determine the club gaining automatic promotion to the Premiership next season.
