Bidvest Wits secured three valuable points when they beat their hosts Lamontvillle Golden Arrows 3-2 at a sun-drenched Chatsworth Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Wits surrendered a two goal cushion in the second half, but were able to find an extra gear in the closing minutes to secure a precious away win.

The small gathering of predominately Arrows' supporters didn't have much to enthuse about in the first half, with the first attempt on goal on 35 minutes falling to Wits' Calvin Kadi who fired over after a well worked move.

In the 42nd minute Arrows goalkeeper, Thulasizwe Khuzwayo, failed to deal with a cross to allow Wits winger Tebogo Langerman to score.

Calvin Kadi made it 2-0 after the restart with an unstoppable 40-yard drive that gave Khuzwayo no chance.

Arrows' Nhlanhla Zothwane hit the Wits crossbar in the 56th minute with a powerful header.

Two goals in two minutes by Siyabonga Sangweni and PSL leading goal scorer, Richard Henyekane brought Arrows level.

Henyekane scored from a penalty kick after Tefu Mashamaite fouled him in the area.

But Ashraf Hendricks claimed all points for the visitors rising to head in a Justin Miller set-piece lob in the 82nd minute. It was Wits' first win in five. - Sapa
