As the Idols competition gets closer to the end, contestants are starting to feel the heat.

After last night's performance at Mosaiek Theatre, many contestants however showed they could handle the pressure. Their focus and talent were tested when they had to do two songs each.

The two girls left in the competition - Thembi Nkosi and Sasha-Lee Davids - were on fire. Nkosi got the show under way with her sizzling performance of Going Under and When You're Gone.

Mara Louw said: "I was not shocked but surprised that you can do that song well. You just proved that you are a versatile singer."

Gareth Cliff was also impressed.

"You are so good when you do higher notes - that was good," Cliff told Nkosi.

After she performed her second song, Dave Thompson said: "You really understand the competition and your voice too."

Davids did Mamma Mia and Because of You.

"That was really worked beautifully. I don't want to say you will win but you are one of the best singers in this competition. You are a serious contender," said Cliff.

Even Randall Abrahams was impressed. "That was fantastically well done," he said.

After Cameron Bruce, Jason Hartman, Lendel Moonsamy and Graeme Watkins, performed, the judges voiced concerns about their performances.

Tonight, the contestant who gets the least votes from members of the public, will be eliminated.
