Twenty-eight female guards were unfairly dismissed by a security company because the client‚ Metrora.
The girlfriend of one of Lucky Dube's killers said that she knew her man was a criminal but couldn't help being in love with him.
"The writing was always on the wall, but love made me blind," said Julius Gxowa's girlfriend, Lebogang Makgato.
She met Gxowa seven years ago. They now have two little girls.
"The scar on his face is what first attracted me to him," she said.
Referring to the three men who were found guilty for the murder; Sifiso Mhlanga, Mbuti Mabe and her lover, she said they had always been "real party animals".
"People in Spuitview, where we lived, say the place is boring now that they are gone.
"They loved to party. They would spend up to R2000 each on a good time. Money was nothing to them."
But she was quick to say that Gxowa was also "a quiet person" who had taken good care of her. They were engaged at the time of his arrest.
"When I visit him in jail, the first thing he says to me is: 'where are our babies, how are they'?
"I know he loves us, [but] I want to find a nice guy and move on with my life now [because] I am worried about my children's future."
Makgato said she has been keeping newspaper articles on the trail and will show them to her daughters when they grow up to prove to them they had a father.
Makgato now has a PR job, hosting visitors at the bungee jump at Orlando Towers, Soweto. She is also a fashion model.
Thabo Maropeng, the state's star witness, who was also arrested for the murder but turned state witness six months later, also said that he was "going to move on with my life".
"I hired my own lawyer, not one provided by the state.
"While I was in jail with the others we discussed our case but I didn't tell them I had made a deal. They didn't know until I was in the dock.
"I testified against them and they have friends out here so I am worried, but there is nothing that I can do.
"The police offered me protection but I said that I would be fine. This was a high-profile case so it will be obvious that they are behind it if anything happens to me," said the self-confessed car hijacker.
