'Reject ICC warrant'

DOHA - Syria's president Bashar al-Assad yesterday called on Arab leaders meeting in Doha to take a stance and reject the international arrest warrant issued for Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

DOHA - Syria's president Bashar al-Assad yesterday called on Arab leaders meeting in Doha to take a stance and reject the international arrest warrant issued for Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

"What is known as international legitimacy is not above the national legitimacy in any country," al-Assad told the 21st regular summit of the Arab League that began in the Qatari capital Doha yesterday. Al-Bashir was in attendance at the summit. - Sapa-dpa
