China putting food on our people's tables

The Dalai Lama is not only a friend but also a brother to South Africans.

But Finance Minister Trevor Manuel is correct. It is not about the Dalai Lama. It is between the Chinese and the South African governments.

Many people could not understand Sandile Memela's opinion in The Daily Dispatch - that we must look at who is investing and creating jobs in South Africa. Are the Dalai Lama's speeches and Archbishop Desmond Tutu's US- based peace awards contributing in our day-to-day lives - especially in fighting poverty?

The government must be more careful in dealing with foreign politics. We don't want to experience a Pakistan situation where terrorist agents attack or kill sports personalities in the name of freedom and God.

If we allow people to use our soil to score political points, we will end up with bombers here in our country. If the Dalai Lama wants us to assist him in regaining Tibet's independence, he should come after next year's Soccer World Cup please!

China is putting food on the tables of South Africans and the Dalai Lama is providing philosophy, so we had to choose between food and ideology. Are the Tibetan people also preparing a national soccer team?

Thanks to the South African government. This time our leadership is not out of order. The Dalai Lama was not invited in Germany.
