Your front page story onFriday is a sad reality of what the Church has become these days. Some people seem to have taken the house of God for granted and have reduced it into a money-making-machine for themselves.

We are experiencing the mushrooming of churches in every corner of our townships and also in the city centres. Such silly churches are clearly formed to make money and don't care much about the gospel, with their fancy sermons that are duplicated from televangelists from the US.

I do not have any sympathy for those who were humiliated by crooked "men of God", as they believed whatever they were doing was God-inspired and correct. I think they should consider themselves lucky that we live in a democracy, not a theocracy, otherwise they would have long been arrested for perverting the gospel of Christ.

Some churches are not affiliated to any association or structure, for fear of being reprimanded and wanting to do wrong as they wish. Had they been affiliated to an association, we would not have been under such gospel immorality.

As much as the state cannot interfere into the affairs of the Church, I think they must be taxed since they are making millions out of the people.

This does not only apply to the church reported in your article, but we know what is happening.
