Orlando Pirates are on a roll. Their solid performance in recent matches make them favourites for the league and cup double.

Their mission to lift the Nedbank Cup continues tomorrow in Potcheefstroom where they confront Bloemfontein Celtic at Olen Park Stadium in an 8.15pm last-16 clash.

Owen da Gama's side are eager to win this tie to build their morale for the April 5 Absa Premiership fixture against the same Bucs. But Da Gama revealed yesterday he will field fringe players tomorrow to save the best for the league match.

Rudi Krol's troops go into this match with more mental strength after beating Celtic in the Telkom Knockout and in the league with the same scoreline - 3-0.

It will be interesting to see how Da Gama handles himself against his former employers, whom he faces for the first time tomorrow.

Both teams will also want to prevail to erase bad memories of their campaigns in the first instalment of the event last year.

They did not reach this stage of the showpiece, which carries a tempting R6million first prize.

l Kaizer Chiefs, should apply caution against National First Division giants Pretoria University, who can embarrass them at Atteridgeville's Super Stadium in another last-16 encounter tomorrow.

On paper Amakhosi are favourites to win, but teams from lower divisions proved last year they also have what it takes in this tournament, so Chiefs must be careful.

AmaTuks coach Steven Barker will pin his hopes on their leading goal-scorer, Thabo Moleko, to take them to the next round.

Andile Jali is their key player in the midfield, but Abia Nale and Kaizer Motaung junior can end AmaTuks' short stay in Ke Yona. Arthur Zwane and Itumeleng Khune are expected to undergo late fitness tests today.
