Peace Lovers declare war

Pakiso "Soweto" Sentle, captain of Polokwane-based Vodacom League side Peace Lovers, yesterday said their Nedbank Cup last 16 match against Moroka Swallows will have more incentives than the prize money itself.

He was speaking at the team's open training session at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

"We've been offered the prize money by our management, although playing against a top Absa Premiership side like Swallows is an incentive itself and individual players will have opportunities to secure contracts with both National First Division and premiership clubs," said Sentle.

The club's coach, Jacky "Styles" Ledwaba, rose to the occasion during the Mainstay Cup in 1987 and as a result was signed by Orlando Pirates a year later.

Ledwaba said he believes in his boys and is confident that they will advance to the next stage.

"It is difficult to prepare for a team of Swallows' calibre because of their inconsistency and also because they want to redeem their already tarnished image. But we are ready for the fight," Ledwaba said.
