The Absa Premiership, which has reached boiling point, will take a break this weekend as clubs will be in action in the last 16 phase of the prestigious Nedbank Cup.

The teams are vying for the R6 million first prize of Ke Yona that was won by Mamelodi Sundowns in its first year last year.

Ten teams from the top flight have made it to this stage, but three will fall by the wayside this weekend as they will be involved in all-Premiership clashes.

At least two clubs from the National First Division will qualify for the quarterfinals, while it is highly likely that Jacky Ledwaba's Peace Lovers will bite the dust.

The ambitious Polokwane outfit is the only Vodacom Promotional League club left in the event. They play the more illustrious Moroka Swallows in Polokwane on Sunday.

The big one on Saturday should be the encounter between Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic at Olen Park Stadium in Potchefstroom at 8.15pm.
