It seems that no amount of economic meltdown will stop Audi from achieving their dream, which is to be the number one premium brand by 2015.
This is demonstrated by the German manufacturer's introduction of its new products in recent months.
The Audi A6 has received a facelift, unveiled at a launch in Cape Town last week.
With the facelift, the German car maker saw an opportunity to introduce new engine derivatives for the A6 range: the 2.0-T and the 3.0-TFSI and 3.0TDI.
That 3.0TFSI is a beast. It is, in fact, a supercharged engine. But according to Audi they decided to leave the T (for turbo) on the badge.
The new A6 does not differ much from the model you see on the road, especiall. the front.
But the rear of the car looks sleek and attractive.
However, the interior demonstrates the technological advancement of the new Audis.
The new entry-level engine of range is a 2.0-litre TFSI unit. Its maximum power output is 125kW between 4300 and 6000 rpm and 280Nm of torque.
Audi SA, says they realised the need for this particular engine.
"We have been lacking in the entry-level of A6, where our competitors played a big role," said Audi SA product planning manager Mahommed Nabee.
