A Mpumalanga headman and 13 villagers were yesterday released on warning in the Temba magistrate's court.
They were arrested last week for allegedly torching the houses and cars of two brothers they accused of stock theft.
Moses Matseke, Big Matseke, Christopher Matseke, Christopher Letlhaka, Maketa Moloro, Michael Moloro, Peter Madileng, Samuel Mametse, Ditau Ramasodi, Malatse Makube, Johannes Tshoane, Steph Mabuse, Patrick Machaba and Joel Molamudi are facing charges of arson.
Patrick Mhlanga and his twin brother Sfiso, both teachers, were forced into "exile" by angry Marapyane villagers on March 8.
The case was postponed to April 15.
