Rosina Sedibane High School, the Vodacom Inter-schools Challenge champions will not be intimidated by their opponents in Group A of the World Schools Football Championship.

The tournament will be held in Antalya, Turkey from April 6 to 13.

The event will be played under the auspices of the International Federation of Schools Sports.

Rosina Sedibane will play against Turkey 2, Poland, Greece, Slovakia and Italy in Group A.

Reginald Paterson, the school's head of sports said based on their preparations for this tournament, he is confident they will do well.

"We will not be intimidated by our opponents because we are physically and psychologically ready for the event. We will go there for nothing less than a gold medal.

"This will also show that we did not win the South African title by mistake," Paterson told Sowetan yesterday.

"The boys have vowed to bring home the trophy. We will continue with friendly matches to ensure that they remain in good shape until the tournament."

Themba Tshabalala, South African Schools Football Association (Sasfa's) director of competitions said they are confident that Rosina Sedibane will do the country proud in Turkey.

"Their consistent and tight training sessions are a clear indication that they will do well in this world event. We will continue to give them our undivided support to ensure that their preparations are not disturbed," said Tshabalala.
