Five Mpumalanga men were remanded in custody after they appeared in the Nkomazi magistrate's court charged with robbery and impersonating police officers.
The bogus policemen moved around the Schoemansdal area, about 40km south of Malelane, at night wearing police uniforms searching for illegal cigarette dealers and robbing people of their belongings.
Sibhobho Mnyambo, 25, Patrick Nkomo, 18, Donald Nkuna, 18, and two others whose names were withheld until an identity parade has been done and for further investigations, will all be back in court on April 14.
