In an effort to reduce long queues at vehicle registration stations, the roads and transport department in Limpopo has outsourced some of the vehicle registration services to some post offices in the province.

The registration and renewal of vehicle licences could be done at 11 selected post offices in the province, where motorists would not spend much time in queues.

This is an extension of services which are being rendered at municipalities and other traffic stations in the province.

The spokesperson for roads and transport, Boikie Tsedu, said the aim was to bring services closer to people and this would also help to improve the lives of the people.

Tsedu said the post offices include Polokwane, Seshego, Fauna Park in Savannah, Tzaneen, Phalaborwa, Thohoyandou, Jane Furse, Groblersdal, Makhado and Mokopane.

He said the post offices had already started providing the services to motorists as from the beginning of the year.

He explained that before the introduction of the service, motorists were already able to pay for their traffic fines at post offices across the province.
