5FM DJ and MTV Base VJ Fikile "Fix" Moeti is not a nut person, but we convinced her to try some anyway.

"'I'd rather be dipped in chocolate," she protested.

First we offered her a pack of Woolworths roasted and salted peanuts and raisins.

"The packaging is different and very creative. Its long shape is appealing to the eye. I'll give them eight out of 10 for the packaging, but they taste very salty."

Next up was the D.licious giant salted peanuts and raisins.

"These look very healthy and I like that they used giant nuts. They don't taste salty at all."

She gave them 11 out of 10, but that was more for the packaging.

Then it was the turn of Simba's salted peanuts and raisins . She hated them.

"Arrrrgh, ooh, these suck! They taste like they have been in this pack for years. The flavouring tastes really bad and the raisins are all mashed up. I would only eat these nuts if I was stranded in the desert for 20 days and had nothing else to eat. I'll give them three out of ten."

Then she tried Safari's lightly salted peanuts and raisins.

"These remind me of my grandparents' home in Botswana. Growing up there, there was always, without fail, a pack of Safari's lightly salted peanuts and raisins."

After a handful of the peanuts and raisins and the nostalgia of her grandparents' home, the report-back was less than enthusiastic.

"They taste okay. There are too many raisins though, so I'll give them six out of 10."

The last was Pick 'n Pay's unsalted peanuts and raisins.

"Ooooh, don't judge a book by its cover. These actually taste very nice. See, I'm going for seconds and thirds," she chuckled.

They got eight out of 10 because they tasted very good, but the packaging was very dull and not appealing.
