Internationally acclaimed opera band The Ten Tenors is set to thrill South Africans.

The platinum-selling group begins its tour on March 28 at the Grand Arena in Cape Town. On April 3, the Australians will entertain at Carnival City's Big Top Arena in Gauteng.

Opera lovers will be transported down memory lane with classics and the vocal powerhouses will also treat fans to superb new arrangements of famous hit melodies. Included are classics by Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, The Beatles and Queen.

The Ten Tenors, known for having loads of fun on stage, will delight with their sparkle and  awesome harmonies to guarantee world class entertainment.

Formed in 1995 by 10 opera students from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Australia, they first performed in and around Brisbane.

They were so popular that they were immediately invited to perform in towns and other cities in Australia.

Their biggest break came in 2002 when they were invited to perform at the German entry selection event in anticipation of the Eurovision Song Contest. Within hours, the entire tour was sold out.

Since 2003, they have done 250 shows around the world.

They released the album Nostalgica last year, which features outstanding new arrangements.
