Yesterday's Absa Premiership match between Ajax Cape Town and Platinum Stars was postponed after the latter argued they were informed late about the fixture.
"I was informed this morning when I landed here in Cape Town that the match is off," said Altaaf Kazi, PSL communications general manager yesterday.
"The information I have is that the match will now be played on March 24."
Sowetan has established that the game was postponed after Stars informed the league that they were not aware about it.
Sowetan has also learnt that Stars' players agreed after Saturday night's Nedbank Cup game against Golden Arrows to meet at training yesterday.
"We knew nothing about the game," said a Stars' player, who asked not to be named.
Ian Riddick, Stars' boss, said: "We were notified late, outside the stipulated days (five) in terms of the rules."
John Comitis, Ajax's chairman, said they spent R55 000 to prepare for the clash.
