At first, Barbara Best baulked at the suggestion of writing a book about her famous football hero brother, George Best.
The world got to know Best as one of the best football geniuses ever to grace the soccer fields, scoring amazing goals after mesmerising the opposition players at will with his body-swerves.
When Barbara ultimately decided to co-write the book, Our GeorgeA Family Memoir of George Best, with Lindy McDowell, she indeed came up with an honest, interesting and at times a possible tear-jerker.
You tag along with Barbara and the Best family when they visit "their George" at his death bed in hospital. The book tells it all that Best was an alcoholic who even drank after a liver transplant.
Barbara also tells us how the family was haunted day and night by the media when Best was dying, something written in a manner that seems to ask if reporters do have families of their own or not. It's a good read.
