South African Football Players Union (Safpu) yesterday won an appeal against Black Leopards in the Johannesburg Labour Court for the unfair dismissal of three players.
The players are Mandla Zwane, Thabang Stemmer and Thabang Mabusela who were awarded R290 000.
Safpu first won the case at the CCMA in Musina two years ago when the three players were awarded the money in unpaid salaries and damages. Leopards filed for recession and the matter was dismissed.
Safpu views this as a milestone in their fight for players' rights. - Sowetan
