Three of the four Confederations Cup host cities yesterday moved swiftly to appease Fifa that the promotion of the tournament will be taken good care of.
The municipalities - Johannesburg, Rustenburg and Mangaung - will start rolling out their campaigns in the next few days.
Tshwane have already taken the lead with outdoor campaigns of this tournament, scheduled from June 14 to 28.
At the same time, the Local Organising Committee pointed out that there was enough budget for their marketing campaigns.
"The host cities have their budget too," said Rich Mkhondo, the LOC's chief communications officer last night.
In Bloemfontein, Mangaung plans a series of marketing and promotional campaigns.
"We have a meeting next week to finalise our programme for the Confederations Cup and World Cup," said Lele Mmatau, the city's communications director.
"There is a plan in place waiting for approval. Our chief executive officer [George Mohlakoana] will host a media seminar in the next few days.
"The seminar will deal with the campaigns and our readiness."
Turning to Johannesburg, World Cup chief executive officer Sibongile Mazibuko said their campaign will be unveiled at the end of this month.
"We've a marketing plan. We have noted the concerns of Fifa and the LOC that the host cities are not doing much for the Confederations Cup.
"We'd like to partner Fifa and the LOC in our campaigns."
Godfrey Nkwane, Tshwane's chief executive officer, is happy as there is a visible marketing campaign in their municipality.
"There are banners and flags of the participating countries, including in townships such as Soshanguve, Atteridgeville, Temba and Mamelodi.
"We also have billboards at strategic areas welcoming Brazil, the United States and Italy to our beautiful municipality."
Nkwane and the city's top brass met with Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke and his delegation yesterday to present their marketing plan.
"Jerome and his delegation were happy that we've started with visible marketing in the municipality.
"We will also be branding municipal buses."
Rustenburg's Nketu Matima said they were also working on various campaigns, including using some of the soccer activities in the area to promote the event.
