Vusiwe Ngcobo is bowing out of the kiddies programme YO! TV at the end of this month.

Ngcobo, 20, started making waves at the tender age of eight, following in the footsteps of her father, legendary maskandi musician Ihhash' Elimhlophe. She is not renewing her contract after reportedly falling out with her bosses.

Industry insiders say there was bad blood between Ngcobo and her bosses and that she was fed up.

Though Ngcobo and Urban Brew confirmed that she was leaving, both denied that there was bad blood.

"Yes I'm leaving at the end of March but it is not true that there is a beef between me and Urban Brew.

"I'm still going to be doing TV. It's just that I don't want people to associate me too much with kids' TV anymore.

"Once you start as a kids' TV presenter it is very hard to shake off that image."

Yo! TV's Blue Couch production manager Kea Modise confirmed that Ngcobo resigned but said she was not in a position to answer any questions.

She said they had a good relationship with Ngcobo.

"Vusiwe said she was interested in doing more shows for grown ups but will still do work with us at Urban Brew."

Ngcobo, a law student at the University of Joburg, said her Yo! TV work was also clashing with her lectures.
