Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
Redi Direko's piece on Tony Leon of the DA (Sowetan February 20) served no purpose but to affirm that she is indeed a coconut.
Not so long ago the woman told us that students at TUT would be better off studying than toyi-toying for financial exclusions. She correctly said something to the effect that all university management staff had degrees.
For her it is inappropriate for students to act in solidarity in defence of poor but academically achieving students. Sana, sizakulwa sibebomvu ngemfundo yabanye abantwana. (Baby, we will be bloodied for other students even if it means toyi-toying for a year).
I was not surprised as all trust fund kids think like this. That woman, given an opportunity, would jump at being a white person. She worships all things white. It's a pity she cannot change herself.
And now she is bombarding the people's paper with the view that Leon contributed so immensely to our democracy.
How exactly did he contribute? By opposing every piece of legislation aimed at transformation? By trying to deny the suffering and underdevelopment of black South Africa, while protecting white wealth and privilege?
I would not be surprised if Direko someday reveals her love for and membership of the DA. She seems to love wealth and privilege and to despise the poor and black people who don't act and speak as she does.
