Meet the respected writers who adjudicated the poetry and short story entries for the Johannesburg Literary Festival.

They are Mkeyi Mthembi, Walter Chakela and Mthuthuzeli Matshoba. The festival is a nation-building partnership project of Sowetan and the City of Johannesburg's Library and Information Services.

It gives youth a chance to showcase their literary capabilities and to enhance their literary knowledge.

What stands participants in good stead is visiting local libraries to get entry forms and to seek reference material to enhance their entries.

The winners will be announced in Johannesburg on March 12.
