A seven-week race for the first prize in Safa Vhembe's Champ of Champs starts tomorrow at the Lesley Manyathela Stadium in Musina.
The tournament will feature the seven Metropolitan League champions from the different streams.
The champions will take home R10000 and a floating trophy, while the runners-up will pocket R7000. Both teams will be promoted to the SAB League.
Mulalo Mafenya, the regional executive officer, said they expect a stiff contest considering that all the teams are eager for promotion.
"We hope that the standard will be higher than that of last season. It is also our belief that players will showcase their skills to ensure that they attract the attention of scouts," Mafenya said.

Tomorrow: Vhulaudzi Rampama v FC Basel (10am); Mukondeni Ratanang v Alpha and Omega (1pm) and Family United v Ngwenani Young Chiefs (3pm).
l The preliminary round of the Responsible Drinking and Gambling tournament will continue on Sunday.
Fixtures: Omi v Sons and Sons (Seshego Stadium); Matoks by Nite v Makabala (Botlokwa); Oakland v Phola Park (Ga-Maja).
