Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
ANC president Jacob Zuma is happy that a massive 2010 Fifa World Cup marketing and communications awareness programmes will soon be rolled out.
This was after Zuma expressed concern that people in remote areas of South Africa knew very little about the significance of the tournament.
He met the LOC top brass in chairperson Irvin Khoza and chief executive Danny Jordaan at Safa House in Nasrec on Tuesday afternoon. He also used the opportunity to again commit the ruling party to all the 17 guarantees made to Fifa during the bidding process.
On the other hand, the LOC assured Zuma that preparations for both the Confederations Cup and World Cup were well on track.
"The president of the ANC was happy with the state of South Africa's readiness for the Confederations Cup and World Cup," said Zuma's aide Zizi Kodwa.
Zuma urged all South Africans to rally behind Bafana Bafana head coach Joel Santana and the entire team.
