It's hardly a year since the launch of the new long-wheelbase Daihatsu Terios, but the seven-seater has already made a name for itself in this highly competitive segment of the market.

The Terios has passed the test of being a small but tough sports utility vehicle (SUV) and looks quite an attractive vehicle.

It even has an exterior look that could earn it a few women fans and an interior that is reasonably laid out, brandishing a few buttons on the dash.

It serves as a perfect family car in every aspect, while practicality is also a strong point, thanks to the extra row of seats that can be folded back, if not needed, to make space for luggage.

The flexible luggage compartment adapts to the size or length of your luggage, allowing for a wide variety of seating arrangements to maximise passenger comfort.

The second row of seats have individual sliding and reclining facilities for maximum comfort and can be individually double folded down for maximum ease of entry and exit of passengers in the third row of seats. The third row of seats also have individual double folding, but in this case to increase luggage space.

The Japanese styling of the new Terios is very advanced. Its compact body size with its wide track allows for easy handling. And despite the longer chassis it has above-average approach and departure angles.

The tidy interior has a flush surface four-step adjustable air conditioner, front and rear power windows, front and rear accessory power outlets.

The vehicle is equipped with power lock for front, rear and back doors and has vanity mirrors with convenient slide shutters for both driver and front passenger seats.

At the back it has a large side-opening rear door on which an externally alloy Mag spare wheel is mounted.

Safety features include dual front airbags, emergency fuel cut-off and automatic door lock release. The seat belts at the front are equipped with pre-tensioners and force limiters, while the rear seats come with ISOFIX child seat anchorage.

The vehicle is equipped with ABS brakes with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist as standard.

The seven-seater 4x4 is priced competitively at R213995.
