Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
Reggae icon Lucky Dube was killed because his hijackers thought, "that the Nigerian must have had money in the car," the Johannesburg high court heard yesterday.
Sfiso Mhlanga, 32, Julius Gxowa, 30 and Mbuti Mabe, 29 are standing trail for Dube's murder on October 18 2007 in Rosettenville, southern Johannesburg.
Thabo Maropeng, a fourth man arrested in connection with Dube's murder. He is now a state witness gave evidence of what happened that day.
The men then drove to Rosettenville. They noticed "a big Chrysler with its lights on, parked in a driveway.
"Mhlanga went to the rear left door, while Gxowa opened the driver's door.
"Mhlanga was inside the car and he fired a shot. Gxowa let go of the driver and Mhlanga fired another shot," said Maropeng.
