A near-flawless display of precision-driving by Neel Jani saw Team Switzerland take the chequered flag in the fifth leg of the A1 Grand Prix at Kyalami yesterday.

Starting in fifth place on the grid, Jani tackled the 40-lap race with the precision of a Swiss watch as he claimed his ninth career victory.

South Africa's lead driver Adrian Zaugg and Team South Africa, they must be wondering why lady luck continues to abandon them after they failed to finish for the third time in a row on home soil.

Starting in seventeenth position, Zaugg forced his way up 10 spots before his gearbox packed in after only sixteen laps leaving the crowd clearly disappointed.

Joining Jani on the podium were Felipe Guimaraea for Team Brazil in second place and Clivio Piccione for Monaco in third.

Ireland, going into the South African leg of the event as log leaders, crashed out in the first lap.
