Moroka Swallows want to spread their wings in their home base with the launch of "Operation Penetrate Soweto" on Sunday.

General manager Sipho Xulu said the aim is to establish supporters' branches in everytownship and "to prepare for the election of the Greater Soweto executive council which will run the affairs of our supporters".

"We also want to revive the support that we have and recruit new fans. We expect 100-plus branches from Soweto," Xulu added.

"We will be going to other areas in the future. We feel that for a long time Soweto has not been taken care of."

Swallows supporters club members and fans in Soweto are urged to converge at the Dube Boyz boxing club in Dube on Sunday at 9am for the meeting.

Xulu said the timing was perfect with the Birds flying high after defeating Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in recent league games.

Meanwhile all is well between Swallows and their central defender, Fabian McCarthy.

"I apologised for complaining through the media instead of following the right procedures, and my apology was accepted. I started training today [Tuesday]," he said.
