ANC Youth League president Julius Malema met Eduction Minister Naledi Pandor for the first time yesterday since slamming her for having a "fake accent".

They both came out of the meeting saying they were "only prepared to answer questions" relating to progress made towards solving the impasse at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).

Staff and students at the university have been on strike over pay increases for the past two weeks.

"This is not a press conference, it is only a photo opportunity session. And if you want to ask questions they have to be about TUT only," said Malema.

Pandor then supported his statement.

"We have reached an agreement with the minister that we all want the university to be opened. We are happy that progress has been made and students will be able to go back to class before the end of this week," said Malema. - Kingdom Mabuza
