The Minister of Provincial and Local Government Sicelo Shiceka says a referendum is among the possible solutions to the Moutse demarcation issue.
Violent acts have become part of this anti-Limpopo campaign where residents are fighting one another and the police over the demand to be reincorporated into Mpumalanga.
Shiceka spoke to Sowetan on Saturday as ANC bigwigs were set to visit the area. The meeting did not take place as violence erupted.
Shiceka said the issue needs to be resolved once and for all. "We might consider the referendum as a possible solution."
