The father of Limpopo soccer club owner Mighty "Lone Mafia" Tjale has died.

Mabule Caswell Tjale died on Monday night after a short illness.

He was the father of the Seshego-based Vodacom League outfit Mighty FC. Tjale, 90, fell ill while at home in Seshego and was rushed to the local hospital where he later died.

The former school teacher and retired policeman was also the life president of the now defunct Seshego Saints.

Tjale junior said: "I have lost a pillar of strength, the man who persuaded me to be in sport, and now I am in love with the sport."

Tjale will be buried in Seshego on Saturday. The funeral service will start at 6.30am at the deceased's home at house number 2632 Zone 2.
