The four players were members of New Wales FC, and they died in a car accident on their way to honour a Safa Metropolitan League fixture against Lucky Stars in Kokstad.

The deceased are Vuyani Ngcaweni, Thembalethu Manteke, Wilson Nkanyana and Sipho Ndlovu.

The injured players were rushed to Kokstad hospital for treatment; two players are still in hospital while the rest were discharged.
