The Nkanyezi magistrate's court yesterday postponed the case of Emmanuel Manqele to Thursday for a bail application.

Manqele was arrested after he failed to keep his promise of raising a dead man from the grave. Manqele, a laboratory assistant at Eshowe High, was charged with violating the grave of Jabulani Xulu, who died in 2007.

Manqele, a self-styled prophet, had told Xulu's relatives that God had told him that he must raise Xulu from the dead because he had died prematurely. He had promised Xulu's relatives he could restore the dead man's life, and that if he failed he would pay them R45000.
